DIA Schools Collaborative seeks to share the collective wisdom and resources of its like-minded, faith-filled school members for the betterment of each institution, the growth and support of passionately Catholic education at-large, and the transformation of the culture of our society.

Members of the Marin Catholic Leadership Team, as well as individuals from the English, Campus Ministry and Counseling Departments attended the 9th Annual Duc In Altum Conference in Washington D.C. during the third week of October. This is a conference that is organized by the Duc In Altum (DIA) Schools Collaborative, of which Marin Catholic is a member.

 

It is a network of schools that seeks to "go out into the deep" and become beacons of light for the ministry of faithfully Catholic education in our nation.

 

The mission of the DIA Schools Collaborative seeks to share the collective wisdom and resources of its like-minded, faith-filled school members for the betterment of each institution, the growth and support of passionately Catholic education at-large, and the transformation of the culture of our society. President Tim Navone sits on the board of directors for the DIA and Bishop Thomas A. Daly (former MC President) is on the Advisory Board for the the DIA.

 

This year the conference had over 200 Catholic school educators in attendance from across the country at Catholic University of America. Principal Chris Valdez and Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction & Catholic Integration, Megan Bridgwater were invited to lead two breakout sessions on the redesign of our English program, which began in 2022. English teachers Maryann Hedstrom, Debra Dharmer, and Tami Kozinski all served on a panel to speak with other English teachers and administrators about their work. It was amazing to see our talented teachers highlighted for their masterful integration of disciplinary excellence and our Catholic mission and identity.

 

Overall the conference was an opportunity to network and share ideas and best practices with other Catholic schools who are striving towards excellence in their own communities.
