Introducing MC's Newest Faculty & Staff Members

   
We are grateful to have fifteen new employees who have joined our community as faculty and staff.
   

Mohammad Adib Sereshki - Math Teacher

Mohammad (Mo) was born and raised in Tehran. He graduated from the University of Garmsar in Iran, where he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After working in the petroleum industry, Mo decided to see the world and discover more about himself. He moved to the United States in 2012 and continued his education in Computer Science at San Jose State University. Mo has always loved Math and ultimately, decided to continue his family tradition of becoming an educator. Math motivates him not just to teach, but to help his students understand how concepts are related to our career paths and daily lives. His mission is to allow students to become their own teachers and to help them find what works best for their own individual learning.
  

Amber Bauer - Photography Teacher

Amber Rose Bauer is a multimedia artist and photographer who has a strong passion for the power that creativity has on mental health and society. She has always loved creating art and while attending Archie Williams High School was strongly inspired in her visual arts and photography classes. She took a gap year after high school and had the opportunity to teach photography to young students for a non-profit in a coastal town in Peru. Continuing to pursue her B.A. at the University of Redlands she designed her own major in Holistic Health and Expressive Arts. She has spent the last four years in classrooms and with students from kindergarten to high school while pursuing her artistic practice outside of those roles. She is excited to combine her passions for working with youth and her drive to share her love and belief in the power of art. She looks forward to having her students experiment with art in ways that lets them slow down, be curious and cultivate new perspectives on themselves and the world around them.
  

Lukas Blondina - English Teacher

Lukas was raised in Cotati, CA. After graduating from Rancho Cotate High School, he earned a B.A. in English from Sonoma State University(SSU). While at SSU, Lukas met his wife, Terese, in an Early Childhood and Adolescent Development class. The young couple were so inspired by the course that they got married and now have two children. Lukas enjoys teaching his three-year-old son, Augustus, how to play hockey and fish; he’s slowly teaching eight-month-old, Margaret how to marinate a steak. Last Spring, Lukas taught at Marin Catholic in the English and Theology departments as a long term sub, and he is excited to return to the English department as a faculty member.
  

Olivia Burr - Art Teacher

Born and raised in San Francisco, Olivia’s educational journey took her from a French-immersion school in SF to a Catholic school education in San Rafael during 2000. She continued her schooling at Sun Valley and San Domenico Middle School before graduating from Marin Catholic. Her active involvement in the art department and volleyball team shaped her high school years. Olivia began her college studies at UC Santa Cruz and later transferred to the University of Oregon, where her passion for art led her to explore various mediums such as textiles, woodwork, drawing, ceramics, metals and more. Graduating with a Ceramics specialization and a minor in Art History, Olivia also spent a year studying architecture and art history in Rome. Following her university journey, Olivia delved into the world of Interior Design & Architecture. With experience in showrooms, architectural firms, and as an independent designer, she maintained a connection to teaching and coaching throughout her 10-year professional exploration. Now, Olivia has found her true vocation in teaching. Her mission is to inspire students to unlock their creative potential and discover confidence in an ever-changing world. By fostering creativity, she aims to not only strengthen communities but also contribute to a better world.
  

Nick Campagna - History Teacher

Nick was born in San Francisco and raised in San Rafael. He attended Marin Catholic and graduated in 2015. Nick then attended the University of Portland where he studied history and education with an emphasis in secondary education. After graduating from the University of Portland and receiving his teaching license, he went on to teach 6th grade at St. John Fisher School in Oregon for 3 years. He returned to the Bay Area this year and taught an additional year of 6th grade at St. Paul Elementary School. In his free time, Nick can be found listening to history podcasts, working on one of his art projects, or working on obtaining his pilot’s license. He is excited to return to MC and share his passion for history and education with his students. 
  

Erika Cramer - Art Teacher

Erika is an arts educator whose creative passion stems from early childhood drawing sessions with her father in the Bay Area. After discovering a love for education and mentorship, she went on to earn her Bachelors in Studio Art from UCLA with an emphasis in drawing and painting and a Masters in Teaching from Seattle University. After over a decade in Washington State working with youth in the arts, where she earned an Outstanding Educator award in 2020, she is thrilled to be back in the Bay Area. Erika is excited to continue fostering a love of art making and creative problem solving in her classroom. Erika’s favorite activities involve being nose deep in a good book, sniffing out culinary mushrooms with her dog, or topping out on a rock wall.
  

Kegan Donlan - Science Teacher

Kegan joins Marin Catholic after nearly a decade of teaching at the University level, most recently at Dominican University where she was awarded teacher of the Year in 2018. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from UC Davis, and a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from UCSF where her research and dissertation focused on the use of targeted therapeutics for mutations in pediatric leukemias. Originally from Southern California, she fell in love with Northern California while at UC Davis and happily resides in San Rafael. She is excited to be at MC to share her enthusiasm for the intricacies of creation and integrate faith and science education. When not in a lab or classroom, Kegan can be found looking for bugs, snacks, and trash trucks with her 4 young sons.
  

Sarah Kahn - Counselor

Sarah was born and raised in Indiana and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She relocated to San Francisco three decades ago, raised her two daughters and taught second grade at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco. Following her dream, she then earned a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University. For the past six years, she has specialized in therapeutic counseling for adolescents and their families within the Tamalpais School District and recently opened a private practice in Kentfield. Since moving to Marin she has been enjoying all of the beautiful hiking trails and the delicious fresh food Marin has to offer.
  

Brennan Krebs - History Teacher

Brennan was born in Thousand Oaks, California and raised in the neighboring city of Simi Valley. He attended Dominican University of California and graduated as a double major in History and Visual Studies (Art History). In addition, he earned an All Conference selection as a member of the Dominican Men’s Lacrosse team and was named Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the university. In his free time, Brennan enjoys fly fishing, traveling, hiking, mountain biking, studying history, and spending time with family and friends. Brennan is looking forward to contributing to the culture of MC, engaging with his students, and sharing his love of history and the Catholic faith with everyone. 
  

Gavin Madden - Counselor

Gavin was born in San Francisco and raised in Greenbrae. He attended Bachich and Kent elementary schools and graduated from Marin Catholic in 1994. Gavin then went to Menlo College where he graduated in 1999 with a degree in Psychology and immediately entered the Dominican College credentialing program which he completed in 2000. Gavin’s career in Catholic education and teaching has spanned 23 years. It began at Saint Rita in Fairfax, with stops at Saint Hilary in Tiburon and Saint Raphael in his hometown of San Rafael. Gavin loves spending time with his wife, watching his boys play sports, coaching his daughter's many teams, and walking his dog, Angus on the numerous Marin County trails. He is so excited to return to Marin Catholic and start the next chapter of his educational career.
  

Bayard Miller - Math Teacher

Bayard was born in Washington, DC and raised in Bethesda, Maryland. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he studied History and Economics with a minor in French. After graduation, he fell in love with teaching as a volunteer for the Sunflower County Freedom Project, a non-profit organization located in rural Mississippi. Since moving to California, he has taught Math at Balboa High in San Francisco and The Nueva School in San Mateo. In his free time, Bayard enjoys biking, cooking, reading, and running.
  

David O'Hara - English Teacher

David is a Bay Area native with a doctorate in English Literature and Creative Writing (Bath Spa, UK). He has taught in a number of different contexts over the years — from International Baccalaureate to Montessori, from undergrads to adult students — leading courses in both English and Humanities. His academic research has primarily focused on the interface between ethics and storytelling, and the ways in which narrative is key to our understanding of ourselves and our place in the world. He grew up in a family of Catholic educators and is honored to be continuing in this tradition. His interests include the philosophy of Richard Kearney, the work Henry and William James, literature at the turn of the 19th/20th century, as well as the History of Film and Music.
  

Sophia Rodriguez - Counselor

Sophia grew up in San Jose attending Archbishop Mitty High School. She received her BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Child Development and a minor in Psychology from the California Polytechnic State University and her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of San Diego. While earning her Masters, she spent time working with previously incarcerated juveniles at a nonprofit in San Diego. After moving to Marin she has spent time working in a private group practice with children and young adults. Sophia Rodriguez is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC11800) who is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach. With students and families, she strives to provide a safe and comfortable space for growth and understanding. In her free time, Sophia enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, enjoying musicals, and adventuring in the outdoors, especially the beach. Sophia is excited to be part of the MC family!
  

Hannah Rouley - English Teacher

Hannah is a Bay Area native (and ex-southern transplant) heading into her seventh year of teaching. She holds a masters degree in English rhetoric and composition from Sonoma State, with a published thesis looking at narrative and memoir. She is an alumnus of UC Berkeley where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature with an emphasis in medieval studies. She has taught in religious private schools almost exclusively, but also has experience teaching college students at the University of Texas, Arlington. Her pedagogical and academic interests include writing education and theory, student relationships and advocacy, and the ways that her teaching and the social and emotional experience of the child are intertwined. She is excited to join Marin Catholic because of the vibrant community of learners and teachers, especially within her department. In her free time, Hannah enjoys reading, cooking, and gaming. You can find her at Point Reyes during the winter season leading talks about elephant seals, and she can be spotted hiking around the Jenner headlands during the summer.
  

Sister James Karol

Sr. James Karol has lived in a variety of places, but calls South Carolina home. She attended the United States Air Force Academy where she earned a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, she served as a Civil Engineering Officer in the US Air Force and worked as a roadway designer for a large consulting firm. Sr. James Karol entered the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in 2017. She has spent the last three years teaching in both the Math and Science departments at Lansing Catholic High School in Lansing, Michigan and is excited to be joining the Math department at Marin Catholic. In her free time, Sr. James Karol enjoys puzzling, reading, hiking, sports, and just being with her Sisters.
