  • UCSF Pre-Participation Physicals Available May 13!

    Pre-participation physicals are required for any student participating in MC Athletics and are valid for one calendar year. UCSF is offering free, comprehensive physical and cardiac screening on Saturday, May 13. This exam can be used to participate in MC Athletics. It is good for one calendar year, so it will expire on May 13, 2024. If a student-athlete's season extends beyond 5/13/24, then they would need to get another physical. To register, please visit UCSF PlaySafe Sports Medicine Program

    If your student is currently being treated for a significant medical, cardiac, or orthopedic condition, it is recommended that you consult with your primary care or specialty physician.  This exam does not take place of your normal visit to your primary care physician.
  • CATS Reminder

    This is a reminder to students that each CATS block during the week has a different purpose. Please see the descriptions below. This information can also always be found under the Quick Links in MC Notes. 

    Monday - PM Club CATS 
    This CATS is designated for Club meetings. If a teacher does not moderate a club, they are available for Academic CATS. Students can also use the time to finish work or study.
     
    Tuesday- AM Student Life CATS (teachers are not available) 
    This day includes mandatory meetings with Counseling or Campus Ministry. If no meeting is scheduled, students can use the time to finish work or study.
     
    Wednesday- AM Academic CATS 
    All teachers are available to help students. Students can also use the time to finish work or study.
     
    Thursday- PM Academic CATS
    All teachers are available to help students. Students can also use the time to finish work or study.
     
    Friday- CATS varies based on schedule
    This CATS can be mandatory for different events: assemblies, rallies, etc. It can also be designated as a Club CATS or an Academic CATS. Check Calendar for more information.

  • Register for a Women's Day Retreat with our Dominican Sisters

    The Dominican Sisters of Mary who teach at MC are inviting all adult women to a day of encounter with Jesus and growth in faith with other women. The retreat will take place at MC on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 9am-3pm. The cost is $20 (but can be waived for hardship), and lunch will be provided. Please register using this link by February 18.   • Student Photographers Needed: NEW Dates ADDED!

    • Looking to utilize your photography skills? 
    • Need to earn some Christian Service Hours?
    • Want to have your photos highlighted in a school publication? 
    Look no further! SIGN UP today to receive your ‘Press Pass’ to attend a school event for free and be the official onsite photographer for the event. Student photographers will work with the MC Communications Department to highlight events throughout the year. Students will be given details about the event before attending and will upload their photos to a Communications Google folder after the event. Check out these available events:

    Wednesday, February 1, 2023 ~ 6:00pm – 7:30pm
    Detective Heather White and Detective Andre Longtin-Horton from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office will review the basics of some common Social Media apps, and provide attendees information on how to use privacy settings, turn off location services, and engage in effective conversations with children about online dangers.

  • Attention MC Sailors: MC Sailing Team is Setting Sail!

    The Spring ’23 sailing season is set to go with an expected start of practices on January 30th. Experienced sailors and beginners are welcome! The team will be sailing CFJ’s(Club Flying Juniors) out of Sausalito Yacht Club. Practices will be Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-6:30pm. The team will participate in several weekend regattas this spring. We are looking forward to seeing Cats flying across the water once again!   • Reminder: School Pick-up Instructions

    It has been brought to our attention that after school, some of our students are running up the exit ramp onto Sir Francis Drake Boulevard to get into their parents' car. This is very dangerous. Please make sure to properly enter down the ramp to pick up your child in front of the gymnasium. We appreciate your partnership in keeping everyone safe.   • Operation Warm Winter Coat

    This is a great time of year to clean out your closets and donate gently used and/or new coats, jackets sweaters, scarves, & gloves to Operation Warm Winter Coat and give the gift of warmth to those in need. The coat drive runs from January 5th - 13th. Donations bins will be available in the Main Administration Office & Campus Ministry Office. Help us support Operation Warm Winter with MC Student Coordinator Emilie Held, the MC Service Team, and St. Anselm’s School in this partnership to keep everyone warm this winter season!
  • Athletic Boosters and Patrons of the Arts Crab Feed

    This year's Crab Feed will be held on Saturday, January 21 in the Saint John Paul II Student Center. Due to capacity, this event is only open to Athletic Booster and Patrons of the Arts members. No general tickets will be sold. Boosters and Patrons tickets are limited to 2 per family and are not transferable or refundable. Be on the lookout for the ticket link in an email to be sent on Saturday. We are grateful for the generous support of all our Athletic Boosters, Patrons of the Arts, and Grand Sponsor benefactors for supporting our community of athletes and artists.

  • Performing Arts Department Offers Music Classes!

    The Performing Arts Department is excited to offer private music lessons after school! Beginning this winter, we are focusing on guitar, bass, piano, and drum lessons, with the hopes of bringing on a vocal instructor as we get up and running. Private or group instruction is absolutely the best way to see rapid progress in any artistic endeavor. I hope everyone seriously considers this opportunity, as it will undoubtedly bring immense personal growth, while raising MC’s Performing Arts Department to new heights!

    Here is a quick breakdown as to what is being offered:
    • Lessons are available Monday-Thursday from 3-5pm.
    • Monday from 3-4pm is reserved for the guitar fundamentals class.
      • All other slots are open for 30 or 60-minute lessons.
    • Tal Morris will be teaching guitar and bass.
    • Joe Pramik will be teaching piano and drums.
    • Ben Lauffer will be teaching drums.
    • Lessons begin Monday, January 9th.
    • Slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don’t Delay!

    Our Ocean's 23 Spring Auction and Student Showcase is launching this week!  Opportunities to support this event are being delivered to physical mailboxes this week.   • Advent 2022

    This year our Advent Season is from Sunday, November 27th, until Saturday, December 24th.
    We invite you to use these resources to help prepare the way for the birth of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Advent is a season to contemplate the Mystery of the Incarnation. It marks the beginning of a new liturgical year in the Catholic Church that builds momentum toward Christmas as the days go by.  As with all new beginnings, this season is intended to renew our spirit and focus each week on hope, faith, peace, and joy.
  • Staying Healthy in Flu Season

    Cold and flu season is upon us! In an effort to keep our campus healthy, we ask that everyone continue to practice good hygiene. If a student is ill, then they should stay home and get well. If students are attending school and appear to have a cough or are sneezing, we will ask them to use a mask (we have ones available in the main office) in order to ensure the health of the other students and teachers. There are Covid test kits at the front office available for pick up. Thank you for your understanding and for helping everyone get through the fall/winter semesters healthy.
  • Introducing MC's New Surfing Club

    We are stoked to introduce the MC Surfing club! MC Surfing club looks to connect kids who share a love for the ocean and surfing! We will do things like group paddle outs and other community bonding events. We can't wait to hear from you and catch some waves!

  • Reminder: No Drop-off/Pick-up in Upper Admin Lot!

    When dropping off students in the morning, please avoid entering the upper admin parking lot. Doing so creates traffic congestion as teachers are arriving to park in their spaces. Thank you for understanding. To ensure the safety of our students, please review the drop-off video and traffic instructions Please be mindful that the St. Sebastian lot is one-way IN during drop-off. It is not an exit route. In the afternoon, the St. Sebastian lot is one-way OUT. It is not an entrance!
  • Calling All Big CAT Families!

    This Friday, November 11th we invite our Big CAT Leaders and Freshman Student Families to eat lunch together in the JPII.  All Freshmen, please meet your Big CAT Leader in JPII this Friday at lunch to celebrate our First Friday CAT Family Lunch and spirit day! 
     
    All students please wear your class color: Freshmen wear Red, Sophomores wear Pink, Juniors wear Orange, and Seniors wear Green!  Show your school spirit and celebrate being a Wildcat! 
     
    Also, please join us this Sunday, November 13th for our monthly Holy Hour at 7:30pm in the Chapel. Come spend time with Jesus, enjoy fellowship with our community, and start your week in prayer and reflection.

      • This year tickets can be purchased using the GoFan ticketing portal. There is a specific link on the portal for each of the three shows, so make sure you purchase tickets for the date/time you are attending. Attendees can access their tickets from a link sent to their email after purchase, or GoFan has an app that can be downloaded to show proof of purchase.
      • Floor seats for students are available at the front of the stage.
      • Students enrolled in a music class at MC do not need to purchase a ticket.

    Students First Quarter report cards are now available on MC Connect. To view the report card, go to Progress and then to the Performance box. There will be a link available to the First Quarter report card. If there is a question about a grade, students should contact the teacher directly.

  • Seeking Students Interested in Youth Mental Health Discussion

    There is an opportunity for students to improve the mental health of youth in our schools and community. Students in grades 9-12 can participate in the AIM Ideas Lab. Marin Catholic students will collaborate with high school students from other Marin county schools to discuss mental health issues and create a survey that they will share with their peers. Students will then be able to make recommendations for change that are backed by their research. For more information, see the AIM Flyer.

    St. Hilary School in Tiburon is looking for two volunteer basketball officials* to help officiate at their Faith and Blue Basketball game this Saturday, 10/8 at 11am. The teams will consist of 6-8th grade St. Hilary students, as well as local police and fire department players.     Our Lady of Loretto School in Novato is looking for individuals to help with their after-school program. This opportunity is Monday-Friday (days can be flexible) between the hours of 2-6pm.     Join our Campus Ministry Service Team in participating in our new Service of the Month program!  For the month of September, we will be supporting Blue Star Moms of Marin and collecting donations of granola bars, protein bars, beef jerky, and used and new books to send in care packages to our service men and women overseas. Our Service Team members will be out at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays to collect donations.  Help us show our community support while also having fun with our Service Team!

  • MC Parent Faith and Community Growth Opportunity - Parent Campus Ministry Book Club

    The Parent Campus Ministry Book Group begins on September 19.

    The two books under discussion this year are intriguing historical fiction set in the first century eastern provinces of the Roman empire:
    Fall Semester: A.D. 30   
    Spring Semester: A.D. 33

    Moderator: Dr. Michelle Fontaine will return as moderator of this discussion group. Michelle has great insight into the historical and spiritual background of these books as she teaches the Foundations of History course in the History Department and for many years prior, the Scripture course in the Theology Department.   • Christian Service Opportunity: Swim Across America, September 24

    The MC Cancer Awareness Club fundraises for and volunteers at the Swim Across America event which takes place in San Francisco on Saturday, September 24. Swim Across America is a fundraising event put on by UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital to raise money for pediatric cancer research. If you are interested in volunteering on the morning of Saturday, September 24, please fill out this short survey so Ms. FJ can send you more information about the event. Also if anyone in the MC community is swimming in the event, please email tfreni-johnson@marincatholic.org and send your fundraising page link and the Cancer Awareness Club will donate to your page.
  • Parent Campus Ministry Meeting: Wednesday, September 7, 7:30am

    Parent Campus Ministry will host its first meeting on Wednesday, September 7 starting at 7:30am. All parents who are interested in becoming involved with campus ministry, please come join us! The meeting will begin with Mass in the chapel followed by a meeting in the President's library. Some ways in which Parent Campus Ministry assists the school is through providing flowers for our all-school liturgies, treats for monthly Holy Hours, and praying with our retreat leaders at morning Mass. We also have Scripture Share group lead by Michelle Fontaine for those interested (see info below). Join us to learn more!
  • Helpful Tips on Navigating MC Connect

    Please log in to MC Connect and become familiar with the following sections. 
    • Class pages: Class pages contain all important information pertaining to your child(ren)'s specific class including grade-specific counseling information and deadlines, Christian Service deadlines, class retreat information, and more. Please bookmark your class page(s) and refer to it often for new announcements and information.  Students can access their class page by clicking on "Groups" in MC Connect. Parents can access their child's class page by clicking on their student's name in the top left, then make sure you are on the "Progress" tab. Scroll to the bottom under "Community" where you will find a link to the class page. 
    • Class Schedule: Click on the Schedule tab to view your student's class schedule with start and stop times, including dismissal times.
    • Calendar: Click on the "Calendar" icon on the top. You can filter by category and customize it to view exactly what you'd like to see. If you'd like to view everything happening on campus, you can view all, or you can select a specific category, such as Athletics, to view only those items. These calendars are printable and able to sync with your google calendar! Simply click on the print icon at the top right and follow these instructions to sync it with your google calendar. 
    • Progress: Click on the Progress tab to view grades in progress as well as to access individual class pages and assignments. (Please note: Grades will not be viewable until September 9)
    • Resources: Click on Resources on the top menu to find important departmental information, forms, and helpful links for parents.
    • News, Featured Content & Recent Activity: Under the News tab, you will find Featured Content, which currently lists upcoming events, but more information will be added soon! Recent Activity displays all school announcements, which you will also receive via email through MC Notes.
    Please log in to MC Connect and explore all there is to offer.
  • Leaving Class for an Appointment?

    Remember to always sign out at the front office with Mrs. Sharps if you are leaving school for any reason (athletics, appointments, etc.). 

    Procedure for Early Dismissal (unrelated to athletics):
    • Parent/Guardian email MC Attendance Office (attendance@marincatholic.org) with the date, time, and reason for the early dismissal.
    • An Early Dismissal slip will be issued to the student in class by the Attendance Office.
    • The student will present the Early Dismissal slip to their classroom teacher and proceed to the Attendance Office to sign out.
    • The student will sign out after receiving a confirmation from the Attendance Secretary that they are permitted to leave campus.
    • Parents/Guardians should NOT call/text the student during school hours.
  • Locker Room Locks

  • Reckless Driving

    It has been brought to the school's attention that some students parking off campus are being disrespectful, driving recklessly, and causing accidents. If you are parking off campus, please be respectful as you are representing Marin Catholic in everything you do. If students are driving recklessly or otherwise being disrespectful, there may be consequences from the school and/or local police.

    Event: Knights of Columbus Council 3950 is Presenting Spirituality in Sports

  • Locker Information

    Freshmen: All freshmen have assigned lockers and locks provided by the school. Your locker number and locker combination can be found in your MC Connect Profile. Click on your name at the top right, then Profile, and you will find your locker information under the "General Information" section. Your lock has already been placed on your locker.

    Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors: Your locker number can be found on your MC Connect Contact card. You have the following options:
    1. Bring in your old MC lock to use this year.
    2. Bring your own combination lock.
    3. Purchase a used lock from the front office for $3. Very limited supply, first come first served.
    4. You can choose not to use a locker. 

    Students choosing not to use a locker: Any lockers that are empty and unlocked by this Friday, August 26, will be zip-tied shut and out of use for the school year.
  • Performing Arts Info Night is Canceled

    The Incoming Freshman & Transfer Performing Arts Info Night on August 23 has been canceled. Please note that the Athletic Info night is still ON via Zoom. Information can be found under the calendar to the right.
  • Join the MC Sailing Team!

    Attention MC Sailors! Preparations are underway for the Fall 2022 season with an expected start of practices in September. Experienced sailors and beginners are welcome. The team will be sailing CFJ’s (Club Flying Juniors) out of Sausalito Yacht Club. Practices will be Monday afternoons, and the team will participate in several regattas this fall.   • Mills Dress Shirts on Backorder

    If a student's Mills Liturgy button-up dress shirt has not arrived in time for our all-school Mass on August 24 due to being back-ordered, it is acceptable to wear a solid-colored button-up dress shirt in its place. Boys will still be expected to wear ties.
  • Athletic Rules and Requirements

    This year, athletics is back to its normal rules and requirements. So please note, if you quit a team, you have to wait until the previous season ends, plus two games, before you join your next sport. Student-athletes are also not allowed to play two MC sports during the same season now that we are back to a normal calendar year of sports.

  • Cell Phones/Tech/Social Media Policy

    Students are challenged to understand and respect the moral and ethical issues related to their use of technology. Please review the MC policy regarding these issues and the parent/student handbook for more details. Please remember: “We see it..we hear it...we take it”: the use of cell phones is not permitted on campus during school hours.

  • No Drop-off/Pick-up in Upper Admin Lot!

    When dropping off students in the morning, please avoid entering the upper admin parking lot. Doing so creates traffic congestion as teachers are arriving to park in their spaces. Thank you for understanding. To ensure the safety of our students, please review the drop-off video and traffic instructions Please be mindful that the St. Sebastian lot is one-way IN during drop-off. It is not an exit route. In the afternoon, the St. Sebastian lot is one-way OUT. It is not an entrance!
  • Dress Code Updates for 2022-23 School Year

    Please closely review the school dress code, so you are prepared to follow proper dress code guidelines.

    Students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate for school. While on campus, students must be neatly groomed and modestly dressed.

    Please note: The first Liturgy Dress day for ALL students is Wednesday, August 24 for our first all-school Mass and picture day.

  • Final Free Uniform Items Available until Tuesday at 12:00pm

    There are still some last gently used MC uniform items available in the Library Media Room (LMR). The final day to shop the closet is Tuesday, August 9 until 12:00pm. Come pick up an extra MC polo, Liturgy shirt, or Mills pants/skirt while supplies last. There is no limit on how many you can take. Come shop!
  • Summer Transcript Requests: July 14 & 28

    For those needing transcript requests or work permits, please be aware that there are two remaining days our Registrar, Gerri Wilkinson, will be on campus to fulfill these requests - July 14 & 28.   • Physician's Clearance Upload Portal Opens June 6

    All student-athletes are required to have a Physician’s Clearance form signed by their doctor and uploaded into MC Connect BEFORE AUGUST 15. The portal to upload the form opens on June 6. Each clearance is good for one year and must be updated on a yearly basis. If students do not have a clearance uploaded into MC Connect they will not be allowed to practice or compete.

    The Physician's Clearance form can be accessed on Resource Board under the "Summer Info" button.

    Once the form is signed by the student's doctor, the form must be uploaded to MC Connect (starting June 6). Please note that parents must be logged in to their own MC Connect account (not their student’s account) to upload the form.

    Steps to complete the upload process:
    1. Login to the parent MC Connect account.
    2. Click on the link in the yellow banner at the top of your screen.
    3. Click on the green “Review” button on the right side.
    4. Click “Upload” to attach the file.
    5. Type in the date of the physician’s signature.
    6. Click Submit.
