Parents and students should not try to “flag down” the bus between stops or request drop offs anywhere other than the designated stops. Since this is a safety issue, there will be no exceptions. Cars should never park or stop in, or immediately adjacent to, the bus stop. The MCHS bus needs room to maneuver – pull in, park close to the curb, and pull out into traffic – safely and without delay. Also, these stops are often busy Golden Gate Transit stops and use by Marin Catholic could be jeopardized if MC parents or students cause delays for them. Drivers who are dropping off or picking up students should park on the same side of the street as the bus stop for safety reasons. This is particularly important for morning drop offs when students may be in a hurry. Parents or students, if unfamiliar with the location of a specific bus stop, may wish to check access and parking in advance. Bus stops are in areas that may have heavy commute hour traffic. The bus driver cannot wait for late arrivals. All students should be at the bus stop a few minutes BEFORE the departure times so they can be safely seated prior to the departure time and to allow for possible differences in time pieces. Students running late in the morning should consider trying to catch the bus at the next stop on the route. CYO Transportation uses the same pick up locations for other schools in addition to Marin Catholic. If there is any doubt as to the bus’ destination, students should check with the bus driver.
