Patrons Accomplishments
Here are a few highlights of what the Patron's supported over the 2006-07 school year:
Events
- Hosted the Fall Arts Cafe highlighting the artistic and musical talents of MC students
- Hosted Club Wildcat - the MC jazz night showcasing the MC jazz musicians
- Hosted the annual MC Arts week event exhibiting the best in MC visual arts and the very popular Solo Ensemble festival
- Provided annual awards and recognition to the top MC Arts students.
- Hosts two informal BBQs for parents and students during the year
- Supports the John Jensen Memorial Scholarship - awarded to a graduating senior who will pursue the arts after graduation
- Intern/assistant position for Jim Wells and the music program
- Supported students and staff to participate in the annual trip by the MC Jazz Ensemble to the International Jazz Educators conference in New York City.
- Purchased music software and an electric piano for the music department
Drama
- Intern/assistant position for Karen Kizer and the drama department
- Help coordinate the Fall play and Spring musical Drama events
Visual Art
- Established the annual permanent art collection showcasing student art
- For MC Arts week, parents help mat and hang the student art and host the reception
- Assist in coordinating art showings by MC students throughout Marin
